Nursing Homes - Butzenberg, Germany
- Black Water Treatment
- MBR Ultrafiltration
- Treated Water Discharged into Sensitive Environment
Site Description
This site is located in South East Germany, in the Altmültahl Natural Park. This is a sensitive recieving enviroment since the karst geology of the area means that there is very little natural protection of the groundwater below. Hence the local council regulations demand a very high effluent quality from wastewater treatment systems.
The site contains two accommodation buildings for disabled people. There are 25 live in patients and 14 nursing staff.
HUBER Water Recycling System
For this project, HUBER designed, supplied, installed and commissioned 2x ultrafiltration Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) systems providing a total capacity of 8,2m³/d. The systems treat the combined black and grey wastewater from the facilities.
The HUBER MBR system utilizes
- 1x HUBER MembraneClearBox® MCB unit, size 4x2
- 1x HUBER MembraneClearBox® MCB unit, size 3x2
- Infiltration into sensitive soil
